Dr. Alasdair McDonnell is the MP for the people of South Belfast and Deputy Leader of the SDLP. Having worked as a family doctor on the Ormeau Road for over 35 years, he knows the importance of taking time to listen to people.
Alasdair grew up as the eldest child in a large farming family in the Glens of Antrim. He is married to Olivia Nugent with four young children, Dearbhla (aged 9), Ruairi 7, Oisin 5 and Aileen 3 years old. He has a keen interest in tackling poverty, boosting the local economy, job creation and sustainability.
